When the International Food Blogger Conference began as the world’s first food blogging conference in 2009, niche blogging conferences were just emerging. Eleven years later, the IFBC and food bloggers are not just going strong, they are firmly established as critical influencers of the food industry.
Food bloggers, food writers, and digital media influencers who attend IFBC are passionate about their subject, and many of them are professionals whose blogs and social media accounts are their businesses. Nearly all invest their own time and money researching, testing, writing and posting about food and food-related topics. They communicate their views to consumers, who themselves are increasingly passionate about what they eat.
The IFBC has great content, speakers, and networking but it is more than a conference. It is a food experience that rotates locations each year, allowing us to provide food, speakers, and experiences that are native to that region. Recent experiences have included a visit to the El Dorado wine region near Sacramento, a food crawl in New Orleans, and a trip aboard an Alaskan fishing vessel. The local experiences are always highlighted by the amazing “Taste Of” in which we bring in a dozen or more local restaurants which serve signature small bite dishes.
